How to audit a Sermorelin dose conversion

The safest way to use a Sermorelin dosage calculator is to keep the product identity, concentration, mass unit, and syringe scale visible together. A familiar number without those labels is not reusable.

Separate Sermorelin from related peptides and blends

Sermorelin, tesamorelin, CJC-1295, and ipamorelin may appear in discussions about the growth-hormone axis, but they are different substances. A concentration or target written for one cannot be transferred to another. The same rule applies to blends: the total mass of a combined vial is not automatically the Sermorelin mass.

For a blend, the current label must state each active ingredient separately. If it lists 10 mg total without a component breakdown, the Sermorelin concentration is unknown. A calculator cannot recover that missing information from the ingredient order, a clinic name, or a product with similar packaging.

Convert micrograms only after concentration is known

The page first divides total vial milligrams by final liquid milliliters. It then converts the target from micrograms to milligrams by dividing by 1,000. Using the illustrative 1 mg in 1 mL setup shown here, 100 mcg equals 0.1 mg, 0.1 mL, and 10 U-100 units. The values make the equation easy to inspect and are not a prescribed or common dose.

If the vial concentration is different, the syringe marking changes. For example, doubling concentration halves the liquid volume for the same mathematical mass. This relationship explains why a saved unit number should never be carried to a new vial unless the complete label and final volume are unchanged and have been independently verified.

Check the result against the written instructions

Read the calculation from left to right: total vial mass, final liquid volume, concentration, target mass, mL, then U-100 markings. A mismatch is easier to locate when the intermediate concentration remains visible. Common causes are selecting mg instead of mcg, entering added liquid rather than final volume, or combining values from different products.

The output cannot assess timing, frequency, route, storage, monitoring, or clinical suitability. It also cannot determine whether a compounded preparation contains the stated amount. Use the calculation as a numerical cross-check and direct product-specific questions to the prescribing clinician or dispensing pharmacy.

What a Sermorelin dosage calculator can tell you

Sermorelin is a synthetic, amidated 29-amino-acid peptide corresponding to the biologically active amino-terminal segment of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It is a distinct molecule; the shared “growth hormone” vocabulary does not make Sermorelin interchangeable with CJC-1295, ipamorelin, tesamorelin, or a blended product.

Historical FDA-approved Geref presentations had specific strengths and labeled uses, including pediatric growth hormone deficiency and diagnostic evaluation of pituitary growth hormone secretion. Those approvals were withdrawn in 2009 at the sponsor’s request. FDA later determined that the products had not been withdrawn for safety or effectiveness reasons, but they remain on the discontinued-drug list.

Many products currently described as Sermorelin are compounded preparations. FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality before marketing, and different pharmacies may dispense different total vial amounts, concentrations, diluents, or combination products. A number copied from another vial, clinic, or website therefore cannot establish the correct volume for the product in front of you.

This page solves only the arithmetic after the relevant values are known. It divides total vial mass by total liquid volume to calculate concentration, converts the entered target mass to milliliters, and then converts milliliters to U-100 markings. It cannot verify identity, potency, sterility, compatibility, route, clinical suitability, or the target amount itself.

Regulatory and product note

FDA withdrew approvals for the historical Geref NDAs in 2009 at the sponsor’s request. In 2013, FDA determined that Geref was not withdrawn for reasons of safety or effectiveness, but the products remain discontinued. That determination does not make a current compounded Sermorelin product FDA-approved.

Distinguish Sermorelin from a blend

A vial labeled Sermorelin plus ipamorelin or another ingredient is not a Sermorelin-only vial. Confirm the separately stated mass of every active ingredient before doing any conversion.

Use values from one current label

Use the total Sermorelin mass and liquid volume for the same product and batch. Do not combine a vial amount from one pharmacy with a concentration or mixing instruction from another.

Confirm what “units” means

On a U-100 scale, 100 syringe units equals 1 mL. These markings describe liquid volume, not milligrams, micrograms, international units, potency, or a recommended dose.
